The last event of the 2016 tour was held in Malta’s renowned capital Valletta, City of the Knights.
Built on a peninsula in one of the world’s largest and deepest natural harbours, this historic city on the East coast of Malta will offer the sailors a thrilling end to the season with prevailing westerly breeze of 11-15 knots and racing against the backdrop of the city’s magnificent fortress.
Located right in the heart of the Mediterranean, the Maltese archipelago enjoys some of the best conditions in the Mediterranean and sailing all year round.
The prevailing wind is north westerly, or "Maestral", however the occasional south easterly, known as "xlokk", does sometimes hit the island bringing hot humid air from the Sahara Desert.
The 2018 RC44 Championship will conclude in Malta between the 14th and 18th November.
